Location: Muncie, IN
Our client is looking for a dynamic professional to join its growing team. Since the lucky candidate will have access to confidential, sensitive and/or non-public customer information, it is expected that each employee will have the ability to ensure their work locations and activities comply with the Information Security Policy.
Basic Responsibilities:
1. Intermediate (at minimum) skills and knowledge on what Business Intelligence is and its value to companies
2. Understands data mart/warehousing concepts in order to translate the data via business intelligence into the proper tool
3. Embraces technology as a business enabler and understands business is the end, not technology or systems
4. Strong in analysis and problem solving
5. Proven skills in the creation of effective and user-friendly data presentations in reports, scorecards and dashboards
6. Working knowledge of database technology (SQL server, Oracle, etc…) and reporting design (normalization, relational design, etc..) and tools (Cognos 7+)
7. Ability to learn and understand Business Intelligence systems (Financial, Marketing, Customer, etc…) to serve as primary resource expert
8. Quick ability to learn new things
9. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audience
10. Ability to project a positive image in person or by telephone
11. Financial or mathematical ability to correctly balance all reports to appropriate controls
12. Ability to learn and meet changing conditions
13. Ability to utilize various office equipment and technology (personal computer, fax machine, copy machine, etc.)
14. Ability to effectively utilize various office automation products (i.e. MS Office products…PowerPoint, Word, Excel, PageMaker, Publisher)
15. Ability to work independently and without close supervision
16. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with affiliate liaisons and vendors
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in a related field
- Report design and management using Cognos tools
- Prior experience in a BI unit at a Financial Institution
- Over three (3) years of experience directly related to the position requirements listed above
